This fixes some URLs I omitted from my previous pass,
notably those in lists.gnu.org. Although lists.gnu.org
does not yet support TLS 1.1, TLS 1.0 is better than nothing.
* lisp/erc/erc.el (erc-official-location):
* lisp/mail/emacsbug.el (report-emacs-bug):
Use https:, not http:.
Most of this change is to boilerplate commentary such as license URLs.
This change was prompted by ftp://ftp.gnu.org's going-away party,
planned for November. Change these FTP URLs to https://ftp.gnu.org
instead. Make similar changes for URLs to other organizations moving
away from FTP. Also, change HTTP to HTTPS for URLs to gnu.org and
fsf.org when this works, as this will further help defend against
man-in-the-middle attacks (for this part I omitted the MS-DOS and
MS-Windows sources and the test tarballs to keep the workload down).
HTTPS is not fully working to lists.gnu.org so I left those URLs alone
for now.
* test/lisp/progmodes/elisp-mode-tests.el (mark-defun-test-buffer):
New variable
(mark-defun-no-arg-region-inactive)
(mark-defun-no-arg-region-active)
(mark-defun-arg-region-active)
(mark-defun-pos-arg-region-inactive)
(mark-defun-neg-arg-region-inactive, mark-defun-bob): Add tests for
the new `mark-defun'.
* lisp/emacs-lisp/lisp.el (beginning-of-defun--in-emptyish-line-p):
New function.
(beginning-of-defun-comments): New function.
(mark-defun): Fix bug#21072, also rewrite large parts of `mark-defun'
to accept a numerical prefix argument.
* lisp/emacs-lisp/lisp.el (insert-pair): The docstring of
insert-pair states that after insertion, the point ends up
after the opening character. This was not true if the pair was
inserted to surround a region (bug#16949).
* lisp/emacs-lisp/lisp.el (lisp-completion-at-point): Only calculate
`table-etc' when `end' is non-nil.
(lisp-completion-at-point): Move `end' back if it's after quote.
If in comment or string, only complete when after backquote.
* lisp/emacs-lisp/lisp.el (lisp--expect-function-p)
(lisp--form-quoted-p): New functions.
(lisp-completion-at-point): Use them to see if we're completing a
variable reference, a function name, or just any symbol.
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2014-02/msg00229.html
* lisp/minibuffer.el (completion-table-merge): New function.
* lisp/emacs-lisp/lisp.el (lisp-completion-at-point): Use
`completion-table-merge' instead of `completion-table-in-turn'.
Fixes: debbugs:16604
* lisp/emacs-lisp/lisp.el: Use lexical-binding.
(lisp--local-variables-1, lisp--local-variables): New functions.
(lisp--local-variables-completion-table): New var.
(lisp-completion-at-point): Use it to provide completion of let-bound vars.
completion tables when completing error conditions and
`declare' arguments.
(lisp-complete-symbol, field-complete): Mark as obsolete.
(check-parens): Unmatched parens are user errors.
* lisp/minibuffer.el (minibuffer-completion-contents): Mark as obsolete.
* emacs-lisp/lisp.el (narrow-to-defun): `beginning-of-defun' goes
to previous function when point is on the first character of a
function. Take care of that in `narrow-to-defun'.
Fixes: debbugs:6157

`access-type' and new obsolescence format.

new format.
(byte-compile-check-variable): New `access-type' argument.
Only warn if the access-type is obsolete.
(byte-compile-dynamic-variable-bind, byte-compile-variable-ref)
(byte-compile-variable-set): Adjust callers.
* lisp/help-fns.el (describe-variable): Adjust to new obsolescence format.

code referring to obsolete var.
(quail-choose-completion-string): Remove.
* lisp/server.el (server-clients-with, server-kill-buffer-query-function)
(server-kill-emacs-query-function): Silence "unused `proc'" warnings.
* lisp/proced.el (proced-send-signal):
* lisp/emacs-lisp/lisp.el (lisp-complete-symbol):
Replace completion-annotate-function with completion-extra-properties.
