A Whispered Call
This post is a farewell to 2025 for the Linux Turkey Community, which became a community partner of the Linux Professional Institute in 2022 and took its concrete steps forward in 2025. It is also another way for us to send a signal back to LPI, from which we have been receiving signals from Linux enthusiasts all around the world. And, at the same time, it is a letter of wishes for the new year.
If you are wondering who the Linux Turkey Community is: we are a dynamic group that grows every day, made up of people from all ages and professions who use various Linux distributions. We follow the developments at LPI with great excitement, discuss and debate them within our group, and eagerly await new announcements.
We hear you, and as the Linux Turkey Community, we say: we are here.
When we entered 2025, we started our meetings with great excitement and passion. We were eager to bring meaningful projects to life together with LPI. Our frequency was very high when we said “we are here,” but over time, it turned into a quiet whisper.
Our dreams and goals were suddenly put on hold, because as a community, we experienced one of those moments when everything comes to a standstill. We lost the founder of our community — the visionary and guiding force behind these dreams and goals. It was a painful experience, and we are still living with its sorrow.
Now, as we continue to honor the memory of Yasin Yılmaz, we have rolled up our sleeves as the Linux Turkey Community to turn his dreams into reality. We hope to meet again on the LPI blog in the new year, with positive and inspiring developments.
